Amington Heath is a happy, inclusive and community-centred school where every child is known, valued and encouraged to thrive. We have high expectations for all our children and want them to leave us as confident, independent and curious learners, ready for the next stage of their adventure.

We believe that primary school should be about more than academic success. Through our Adventure Curriculum, children experience exciting and purposeful learning that builds knowledge, develops skills and encourages them to question, explore and discover. Our wider enrichment offer gives every child opportunities to Explore, Contribute, Aspire and Perform, broadening horizons and helping children discover their interests and talents.

Alongside this, we place great importance on developing character. Our Amington values of Resilience, Excellence, Self-awareness, Positivity, Empathy, Communication and Teamwork help children understand themselves, work successfully with others and develop the confidence to embrace challenge.

We are proud to be a school where inclusion and belonging matter. We recognise that children have different strengths and needs, and work closely with families to help every child access learning, participate fully in school life and achieve their potential.

Most importantly, we want children to enjoy being at Amington Heath. We want them to feel safe, challenged and supported; to make friends and memories; to discover new possibilities and to develop a genuine love of learning.

Welcome to Amington Heath Primary School and Nursery. I am proud to be Chair of Governors at our school.

Amington Heath is a very special community. Whenever I visit, I am struck by the warmth of the relationships between children and adults and by the enthusiasm, confidence and sense of belonging our children show.

As governors, we share the school’s ambition for every child. We work closely with school leaders while providing appropriate support and challenge, helping to ensure that children receive a high-quality education in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.

We are proud that Learning is our Adventure is much more than a school motto. Children are encouraged to work hard, embrace new experiences, develop their individual strengths and become caring, responsible members of their community.

Strong relationships with parents and families are an important part of life at Amington Heath, and we hope that you will feel as much a part of our school community as your child does.
