The Governing Body plays an important role in the strategic leadership of Amington Heath Primary School and Nursery. Governors work with school leaders to ensure that the school has a clear vision and strategic direction, that leaders are held to account for the educational performance of the school, and that the school’s financial resources are used effectively.

This approach enables all governors to maintain a broad understanding of the school and contribute to its strategic direction, challenge and accountability.
Where required, specific panels or committees are convened for particular purposes, in accordance with the Governing Body’s agreed procedures and statutory responsibilities. These include matters such as Headteacher performance management, pay and complaints.
Membership of these panels is determined as required, taking account of the nature of the matter, governors’ roles and any requirements regarding impartiality or conflicts of interest.
